Your eye catches a font used on a flyer, pamphlet, magazine or a newspaper. Your mind immediately starts applying those fonts in that presentation design you are working these days. But the problem is how you are going to tell the computer what font it is, that you want.
Similarly it’s hard to remember all the fonts that you come across every day like banners & hoarding that has some beautiful fonts that you would want to use, maybe in future work, that might suit the requirements such as for bullet points in your powerpoint presentation or while designing a restaurant menu or let’s say an ebook.
Altogether it is very difficult or even impossible to connect with the designer or the artist who had worked on that artwork you came across which has your favourite font in it

Here is a solution to this problem, all you need to do is take a picture of the flier, pamphlet, newspaper or whatever and run a ‘match font’ tool inside Adobe Photoshop. If it’s a graphics, you came across a website, save that image or take a screenshot of it and save it on your computer and use that in a ‘Match Font’ tool. Photoshop CC has a lot of powerful tools; it is worth spending money on it. I recommend you buy the full version.
Here is how to identify a font in an image.
Open the image inside Photoshop
Go to the Type Menu
Click on ‘Match Font’
Use the select tool and select the area inside the image which contains that text which you want to identify the Font name.
As soon as you select the text area, the font names will start appearing in the nearby pop-up window.
This tool also shows you other similar fonts which matches that font which you are looking for to use in your projects. You can easily get the fonts that you may want to install on your PC.

There are few websites and apps which offers these services for free, all you have to do is upload that image file, and it will tell you precisely what fonts are used in that image, but I haven’t found 100% success in it. But I am sure; they are going to get improved in the future, as the technology improves.
