Thugs of Hindostan, is a mixture of a Pirates of Caribbean and Troy, yes I am talking about the trojan horse, but used in an Indianised way, to make you feel it’s not taken from a movie, Troy.
The choreography is a way to modern to suit that era, the dance steps were tribalized to give you that feel, but it fails.
The locations are a bit confusing, some part of the movie gives you a Mediterranean feel as if the film was shot near malta or a greek neighbourhood. But some part of it makes you feel like Southeast Asia, those little mountains in the middle of the sea. Remember that song, Kaho na pyaar hai, ya sort of like.
The best part I liked in this movie was Sir Bachhan’s performance. Katrina Kaif doesn’t suit in her role. She is too glamorous for such movies.
In the first 10 minutes, you understand the story of the movie, and what the end is going to be. A typical 80’s movie, someone killed the family, one member survives, revenge begins and at the end, you know what happens. But script takes a lot of twists in between. Which still can be figured out if you are a movie freak.
Dialogues are something which will help you laugh a little bit, sometimes. But at times, they are boring.
One thing I liked was cinematography, some really good shots taken, gives you a good feel.
