Frames Film Festival held at SIES College (Nerul, Navi Mumbai) from 10th – 12th January 2019 was their 16th edition. They had received total 3,626 entries from all over the world. 253 International Short Films, 2235 National Short Films, 422 Documentaries, 364 Animation, 322 Music Videos, and 30 Advertisement Videos.

I many times stopped judging and analysing too much, and I simply watched and enjoyed it and how it moves you. And they sure did.

These are the films made by Film Students and not professional people. They had such clarity, such beauty and exactly what short films should be, with limitation and a certain limited amount of time to tell the story.

I am entirely surprised by the standard of the films made by the students.

I saw a lot of work from a lot of continents, good work from many places by young budding filmmakers.

Many of the films just documented the facts, but what is the most important thing in any work of art or a media that we see, the end result is that you should not be the same person that you were 5 minutes before you watched that film. It should make the difference in your life and your thinking. I think that is the most important thing. We create a work, after that there should be some change in whoever is watching it. I think that impact is the most important thing. Also, read Women’s Safety & Empowerment Short Film Contest.

Very Nice ideas, Theme, content, performance, cinematography. All around the work is appreciated.  Youngsters are coming up with brilliant ideas for short films.

The planning of the Frames Film Festival starts before 5 to 6 months, wherein students apply for the post. They are then sorted and interviewed by the Head of the Department (SIES College, Neral) Mr. Abhishek Dandekar for the final selection.

The Panel Discussion members for Frames Film Festival 2019 were Dalip Tahil & Uday Shankar Pani

I think the choices were an excellent and beautiful collection; I am glad I attended the Frame Film Festival.

I met two super seniors from SIES College, Aniket Arun Naik, and Gargi Barve Divekar. Upon discussion, I discovered that all the celebrities coming to this festival do not charge any professional fee.

Some of the celebrities recounted by Aniket who had visited in last 16 years are Directors like Rohan Sippy, Sanjay Gupta, Madhur Bhandarkar, Mahesh Bhatt, Rajesh Mapuskar, Ram Gopal Verma and Anurag Kashyap to name a few.

Actors and Actress like Jackie Shroff, Sophie Choudry, Komal Chautala, Praveen Dabas, Sumeet Raghavan, Renuka Sahane.

Also Ganesh Acharya (Choreographer), Leslie Lewis (Singer/Music Director), Shruti Pathak (Singer), Chan (Singer) and many more.

I must congratulate whoever has made this selection at SIES College. They are wonderful films.

I congratulate Prof. Mithun Pillai from SIES College, for successful completion of the 16th Frames Film festival.

Frames Film festival 2019 was nicely organised, with some glitches here and there, but after all, they are students. Overall 9 out 10.
